I always joked that I would make Edgar famous one day. He’s been creative muse, inspirer, collaborator and subject of my photographs since I met him in Berlin in 2009, not to mention he’s one of my dearest friends. So it’s with some satisfaction that I can share the news that my image of Edgar is one of the top forty finalists in the Head On Portrait Prize.
This national award sees over 2500 entries per year and is the nation’s biggest innovative showcase for Australian portrait photography. It is described as “really the only opportunity to see the best portraiture work the country has to offer.”
The show opened on Friday night and is on display at the NSW State Library in Sydney until the 23rd June. My image hangs amongst some truly astounding portrait work by some amazing photographers so it’s a real privilege to be included. If you are in the Sydney area do check it out.
